The Celestial Church of Christ is an African Instituted Church founded by Reverend Samuel Biléhou Joseph Oshoffa on September 29, 1947, in Porto-Novo, Benin, following a divine mandate from God. Renowned globally, the Church boasts numerous Parishes and Dioceses across various countries, with its International Headquarters firmly established in Nigeria. The denomination’s name, ‘Eglise du Christianisme Celeste’ in French, ‘Celestial Church of Christ’ in English, and ‘Ijo Mimo ti Kristi lati orun wa’ in Yoruba, was divinely disclosed by the Holy Spirit through Alexander Yanga, one of the initial disciples of Rev. Samuel Biléhou Joseph Oshoffa. Yanga, who had been miraculously healed by Rev. Oshoffa through the Holy Spirit’s power, served as a testament to the Church’s spiritual foundation.
